Wellness Services
The team at Oceana Veterinary Clinic understands the importance of starting your puppy or kitten off on the right paw. Preventative care and vaccinations starts as early as 6 weeks of age. We treat each patient as an individual and recommend the best possible care for your pet. You will receive a customized puppy or kitten folder at each visit (up to 16 weeks of age) to help you understand your pet’s needs now and in the future.
Older pets need special attention to detect and manage the conditions that develop with age. Did you know that your pet ages 6-7 human years of each year of their life? It is important to take the steps necessary to ensure continued good health during your pet’s senior years. We recommend annual blood testing after 7 years of age to provide early diagnosis of kidney, liver, diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, as well as many other disease processes. Your senior’s nutritional needs change too. Providing the correct diet can help to prevent or modify some aging conditions, therefore improving your pet’s quality of life.

Preventative care for your adult pet is of utmost importance. We want to see your pet age gracefully into their senior years by providing them individual care now. Vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental health, and nutrition can be tailored to your pet.
Approximately 7.6 million animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of this 7.6 million, 10% are relinquished due to behavioral issues. That means approximately 760,00 thousand animals are given up for issues that may have been prevented due to puppy socialization and obedience. Puppy socialization and obedience are key components to developing a life-long bond with your pet. A well socialized and trained dog is better for everyone.
